There was a time when 1.44MB felt like enough.
We carefully saved our documents onto floppy disks, labelled them by hand and hoped they would still work when we needed them. Storage was limited, computers were slow and every piece of information had to be deliberately saved.
Now artificial intelligence can draw upon an almost unimaginable amount of information in seconds. Within one lifetime, we have travelled from carrying our files on a small plastic disk to asking a machine almost anything.
The understated AI & Beyond logo on the front introduces the collection, while the back tells the complete story. The floppy disk dissolves into pixels and becomes a digital brain—a visual representation of just how far technology has travelled.
A nostalgic and slightly unsettling reminder that we remember when computers had very little memory. Now they seem to know everything.
